Horvath  Dermatology  Associates is proud to welcome Dr. Gretchen Kreizenbeck to our practice!

DrGretchenKreizenbeck

Dr. Kreizenbeck has been a board-certified dermatologist since 2011, who has now practiced in Pittsburgh since 2014.  She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and Women’s Dermatologic Society.

Dr. Kreizenbeck was born and raised in the wild west of Deadwood, South Dakota.  She worked multiple jobs every summer from hostess, busgirl, tour-guide, and waitress; she even bartended at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally to allow her to graduate summa cum laude with a B.S. in Biochemistry in 2003 from the University of Notre Dame.  Upon graduation, she received both the University’s Merck Index and Student Leadership awards.

While a medical student at the Yale University School of Medicine, Dr. Kreizenbeck completed her thesis in the field of melanoma. After accepting the Max Kade Clinical Clerkship, she studied in Salzburg, Austria and graduated in 2007 as a Yale Farr Scholar. She completed her internship at the Yale Primary Care Program and completed her residency in dermatology with the Yale Dermatology Residency Program in 2011.

Dr. Kreizenbeck continues to enjoy teaching… long ago as a college tutor for her fellow classmates, now working with her patients to develop healthy lifestyle choices if motivated.  She has been a volunteer Faculty Member for the Washington Health System Family Medicine Residency Program since 2017.  At two of her previous practices, she created the cosmetic divisions by developing the curriculum and teaching fellow staff the art and benefits of radiofrequency, IPL (intense pulsed light), injectables and lasers.  She individually taught her cosmetic neurotoxin injection technique to a qualified physician associate.  Dr. Kreizenbeck is also a public speaker, most recently at “A Day for Women” where she offered specific strategies and methods for mothers, daughters & all types of caregivers in prioritizing self-care.

Her specialties include cosmetic and medical dermatology; surgical excisions and other skin cancer treatment; and cosmetic procedures including Botox/Dysport, hyaluronic acid fillers (Restylane/Juvéderm), and energy-based treatments.  She enjoys treating “the whole patient” and utilizing detective work to find the underlying root cause of skin conditions in adults and children.  She has a special interest in vitamin and nutrition given her biochemistry background.  She lives in Upper St. Clair with her husband, 2 children, and 2 cats.
